On the heels of the release of our first album, Wanderlust, in May, 2014, we had the great fortune to present our music to audiences outside of our home state of Texas for the first time. During those travels we started to develop new material, much of which became a part of this new record, Forrozêra.

Forrozêra was recorded over the course of two days at Beardog Recording in Austin, Texas and features the regular members of the band, as well as Laura Otero, who contributed wordless vocals on two tunes. Like our first record, Forrozêra includes both original compositions and some music composed by our main influence, Hermeto Pascoal.

Additionally, we recorded tunes by two very good friends: Masumi Jones and Caio Barreira. Masumi's "My Cats" is well known to Austin musicians who have performed on her live web concert, "Jazz at Noon," as the show's theme song. We've given it a Northeastern Brazilian twist.

Caio spent a year in Austin, but he has since returned to Brazil. While he was here he created the album art for Wanderlust, in addition to subbing for Daniel on bass, and playing a variety of other instruments around town. He wrote Forrozêra, the title track of this record, while he was in Austin and we are pleased that he allowed us to record it for the first time.

A big thank you to George Shalda for engineering, mixing, and mastering this music, Lucah Bah for contributing the cover photo, and Shaela Rutherford for designing the album art. Also, thank you to all the musicians, friends, and fans that we have come across since this project began. We hope that you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed creating it!
